Status epilepticus treated by intravenous infusions of thiopentone sodium.
Status epilepticus is encountered relatively infrequently in neurnsurgical practice. As would be expected, its greatest frequency is found in epileptic colonies and the realms of general practice. From time to time such patients may be referred to the annesthetist and his advice sought. Because of the relative infrequency with which such patients are seen, treatment is variable and not often re...
متن کاملFission Fragments Track- Etched Pores in Borate Glass
A study has been made to investigate the detection sensitivity of Borate Glass for the heavily ionizing fission fragment tracks. The latent damage tracks produced by fission fragments in Borate Glass, with and without Aluminium Oxide as an additive, have been studied under a high resolution scanning electron microscope. Tracks have been found and studied only in the Borate Glass samples with no...
متن کاملInfluence of sex hormones on thiopentone sodium-induced general anaesthesia in rabbits.
Effects of testosterone. progesterone. oestrogen and progesterone combination were studied on thiopentone sodium-induced general anaesthesia in nonpregnant female and male rabbits. Three days' treatment either with testosterone 1 mg/kg or progesterone 1 .5 mg/kg or oestrogen 0.03 mg in combination with progesterone 0.5 mg/kg delayed the onset and shortened the duration of oeneral anaesthesia.
متن کاملStructure of Rhenium-Containing Sodium Borosilicate Glass
A series of sodium borosilicate glasses were synthesized with KReO4 or Re2O7, to 10,000 ppm (1 mass%) target Re, to assess effects of large concentrations of rhenium on glass structure and fto estimate solubility of Tc, a radioactive component in low active waste nuclear glasses. Rhenium was used as a surrogate for Tc for laboratory testing, due to similarities in chemistry, ionic size, and red...
